Awe-inspiring family story

Placeholder ImageI have been a culinary intructor for several years. By sheer accident (and luck, as far as I was concerned) started teaching adults with disabilities how to eat a little better and enjoy their food a little bit more. Every class is different. Every student is unique. Often, once the classes settle into their comfortable routines and we adapt our recipes and equipment so that every class member can fully participate in prepartions, I no longer see their disabilities.

Read how this family adapted to their son’s Autism at meal times. While I can easily access hundreds, if not thousands of articles on the health benefits of gardening, there isn’t anywhere near as much in the mainstream media about disability in the kitchen and eating well. We need to see more like this.
